The four test areas, mapped to lessons

Both HiSET and GED cover the same four areas. Each button opens the Grade 11 lessons for that area; use the grade picker on the course page to go easier (Grade 9–10) or harder (Grade 12). Every lesson has a Listen button, a speed control, tap-to-hear words, and the coach.

Ten questions, on the clock

Questions come from the lesson practice packs for the area you pick. You get 15 minutes; the score and explanations stay on this device. Beat your own best.

STUDY PLAN

Pick a test date. Get a week-by-week plan.

Choose the date you want to test and how many days a week you can study. The plan spreads the four areas across the weeks, checks off missions you finish on this device, and prints on one page. It stays in this browser only.

    This is a free study path, not a test-prep company and not a guarantee of a passing score. Louisiana’s free WorkReady U programs can register you for the official test and cover testing fees for eligible adults.

    TradesQuest is free, needs no account, and remembers work only on your own phone or computer. Here is how to help a child use it, even if reading in English is hard.

    QUICK START

    How it works

    1 · Pick a grade

    Tap Start learning, choose the child’s grade, then a subject or a trade. Every course has ten short missions per grade. There is no wrong place to start.

    2 · Let the site read aloud

    Every mission has a Listen button. Words light up as they are read. Use Speed → Slow for young readers, turn on Pause between sentences, or set Tap → Sentence so tapping any word reads that whole sentence.

    3 · Tap hard words

    Tap any word to hear it alone and ask the coach what it means. The Word bank under each mission lists the key words with meanings in English and Spanish, plus a quick quiz.

    4 · Read it in your language

    The Para padres card explains the mission in Spanish, Vietnamese or French and reads it out loud. On translated lessons an Idioma switch shows the whole mission in Spanish.

    5 · Practice, then check

    Open practice shows a task card and steps. The child records what they tried, passes a short checkpoint, and writes one or two sentences. That is a finished mission. Nothing is graded by a school.

    6 · Keep it going

    The learning home shows the day streak and badges (3, 6 and 10 missions in a course). When all ten missions of a unit are done, print a certificate. Easy-read text in the toolbar makes the type larger and wider.

    PRIVACY

    What we do not collect

    No names, no emails, no accounts, no ads. Progress, notes and certificates are stored in this browser only; clearing the browser clears them. The coach answers questions about the lesson but does not keep a record of who asked.
